If it's not a hit, switch it up.

Do you find that no matter how hard you try X, you just don't get anywhere with it?

Do you ever feel like you're running your head into a brick wall? Trying over and over to make your ketchup flavored lollipops sell without luck? Change the flavor then!

As a leader, creator, entrepreneur, I believe in perseverance. Something I have noticed in myself and in other leaders around me is a tenancy to try even harder to make something work when they don't get the results they want.

Watch the following video if you can:

One of the biggest mistakes we make as people is that we assume others learn and resonate with the same things we do which is not true and highly ineffective.

If you're a parent and you yell at your child every 5 minutes to pick up the toys and every time nothing happens, the answer is not to yell more often and louder, the answer is to change the method and approach.

If you're a leader who constantly gets blank looks from people during a meeting, don't just keep saying the same thing over, and over, and over again hoping for a different result. That's insane. Instead try changing not just the wording of the message but maybe also the way you deliver the message.

If no one is interested in your great idea, don't push it harder, go back to the drawing board as many times as it takes to get the right results.

In short, if it's not a hit, switch.

Do you find yourself frustrated by the lack of buy-in to what your trying to do? If so, have you ever considered going a different direction or do you just press forward harder?

Consider buying Derek Sivers' book. It's a great read. Check out the link below:
